Fabricated: The Election Results For The 2026 Mityana Woman Member of Parliament In The Tiktok Are far from exact.

A video post circulating on TikTok explains how Hon. Nabakooba Judith Nalule won overwhelmingly with 55,679 votes compared to her rival candidates – Hon. Joyce Baagala with 5,000 votes and Hon. Mukisa Proscovi, also known as Nabbosa, with 40,123 votes. 

The claim is also marred with exaggerations and opinions which aren’t fact-checkable, and this fact-check focuses on where the numbers presented in the video are indeed the ones declared for the Mityana Woman member of the parliamentary seat in January 2026.

The post garnered over 2k likes, 18 shares, 140 bookmarks, and 55 comments at the time of this fact-check.

Facts,

Using the InfoVerifier, an online fact-checking platform, it shows that the election results for the Mityana Woman Member of Parliament seat in the 2026 election have not yet occurred. The 2026 Uganda general election is scheduled for January 2026, and no results are available at this time.

But at the time of this fact-check the elections had already happened and the platform did  not have access to current information regarding this querry.

We therefore proceeded and searched the Electoral Commission website and the verified  X account to find out if they published recent results regarding the Mityana election results for the Woman Member of Parliament for comparison with the numbers in the claim. As of the time of this fact-check, the official numbers from Mityana in the 2026 elections were inaccessible from the electoral commission pages. 

An additional Google search showed results are about other information, but official documents from the 2026 general elections have been uploaded.  

Whereas a verified source, NilePost, indeed confirms Hon. Nabakooba as the MP-elect for the 2026 elections under the National Resistance Movement; she secured 55,035 votes, defeating her closest challenger, Mukisa Proscovia, also known as Nabbosa of the National Unity Platform, who polled 40,579 votes, and Baagala finished third with 10,179 votes. Catherine Nalweyiso Tusuubira trailed with 710 votes.

The same numbers can be cross-referenced with other known and credible media like the Daily Monitor, which can be seen in the screenshot below.

When compared with the statistics in the claim, the TikToker falls short by overshooting the numbers, as simply put below.

Fabricated. The numbers in the claim are exaggerated and aren’t factual. The additional comments in the same video are simply inflammatory opinions and disinformation targeting Joybe Bagala and other contenders.
