Become a Certified Fact Checker

Are you a facts enthusiast, crisis manager, journalist or citizen of Uganda, in Africa or from across the world, you can train in fact-checking with us. We have designed a course just for you to become the next-generation fact-checker in your community. The course comes with a certificate. Fact Checkers In Residence

The Debunk Fact Checkers in Residence Program is a 3-week residential fact-checking training program targeting journalists/researchers who are students or recent graduates from universities in Uganda.
Our key focus areas during the residence include Climate Change Misinformation, African Biases and Stereotypes, Health Misinformation and Trending Fake News that Violates Human Rights.
Residents are trained by our qualified Fact Checkers certified by Africa Check and Code4Africa and are trained in the art of multimedia storytelling by Media Challenge Initiative
The Residents will be trained in Fact Checking/News Verification and Mobile Journalism (Mojo). Residents will also undertake the five-step fact-checking process and learn how to produce fact-checks in audio format on MCI Radio.

Volunteer With US

By volunteering with us, you are helping us further our vision of creating a world where people can easily access factual information in real time. This is a part-time/full-time experience. You can work with our training department to craft your skill in programs and presentations, our editorial and content team to edit audio/video content, and our production team to source and script stories.

A Debunk Bot Ambassador

Debunk Internship

Are you a University Student? Join our team and work on some cool stuff. Our key focus areas during the internship include a mini-crash course in fact-checking, The areas covered are; Climate Change Misinformation, African Biases and Stereotypes, Health Misinformation and Trending Fake News that Violates Human Rights.
