Spotlight on Fake Degrees: New Website Launches to Track Dubious Academic Credentials

In a digital age where credentials can be faked with a click, accountability has never been more important. A newly launched website , Kichupuli PhDs is shining a light on fake academic qualifications, exposing individuals who claim unverified or fraudulent degrees.

Built as a civic tech initiative, the platform crowdsources and documents suspicious academic credentials in Uganda and beyond. It’s a timely intervention, especially in an era where academic inflation and political power sometimes mask forged titles.

The platform allows users to browse a list of individuals whose academic claims are under question, with links to relevant reports and sources. It also invites the public to submit tips and verifiable leads with caution, context, and verification emphasized throughout.
At Debunk Media Initiative, we see tools like this as part of a wider ecosystem of truth-seeking and public interest accountability. While every claim should be investigated fairly and responsibly, platforms like Kichupuli provide a new way to scrutinize powerful narratives and promote the value of honest qualifications.
