FALSE: This Video Doesn’t Show Ugandan MPs Voting On Age Limit Removal And Censure Of Corrupt Commissioners

This TikTok video purportedly comparing Ugandan legislators’ parliament attendance during the age-limit debate and censure of alleged corrupt commissioners is FALSE.

The images used in the video are from different events in parliament and are unrelated to the ones mentioned in the video.

The two images represent neither a plenary session when MPs debated the age limit in 2017 nor in 2024 when Members of parliament led by Theodore Ssekikubo sought to censure four parliamentary commissioners over a USh1.7 billion service award.

The first image is from 5th April 2022 during a parliamentary tribute to the late Hon Jacob Oulanya while the second image used was taken and published on 12th March 2015 in parliament where the speaker warned the ministers of absenteeism.
