Analysis
The student, Trevor Daniel Kayemba who passed away is a former student of Elite High School but is not the same student who arrived for prom in May 2024 in a chopper. These are two different people and this is very sensitive information that has misled the public. At the time of his demise he had also left the school and was an Old student. Reaction from Elite High School.
Elite High School through their X account called out the information as fake and asked for media houses to always verify information before widely sharing.
Media houses should always fact check and verify information before sharing. Unfortunately that is not the case with our media houses today. Let’s prioritize accuracy online. #Fakenews #verifybeforesharing pic.twitter.com/ZIw1nScV0J

In a phone call with Mr Onyango Lawrence, the Headteacher of Elite High School we were also able to confirm that the former student who passed away is different from the one who arrived for prom in a chopper. We condole with the family of Trevor and ask the media to fact check and be more careful before sharing sensitive information that misinforms many people.
